Aloysius Harry Simmons, born Aloisius Szymanski, was an American baseball player. Nicknamed "Bucketfoot Al", he played for two decades in Major League Baseball as an outfielder and had his best years with Connie Mack's Philadelphia Athletics during the 1930s. He also played with the Chicago White Sox, Detroit Tigers, Washington Senators, Boston Braves, Cincinnati Reds and Boston Red Sox. After his playing career ended, Simmons served as a coach for the Athletics and the Cleveland Indians. Simmons was inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1953. He died of a heart attack three years later.
