Manoj Jain MD MPH is an Indian American physician and a writer. He is an adjunct faculty at Rollins School of Public Health at Emory University and a contributing health writer for The_Washington_Post,and The_Commercial_Appeal. He lives in Memphis, Tennessee. He is running for public office for County Commission for Shelby County in August 2014 Elections. He is known for his writings under the " A Trained Eye" column in the Washington Post since 2007 and the "Healthy Memphis" column in the Commercial Appeal since 2003. He was one of the founding member for the Healthy Memphis Common Table, a city wide collaborative and the Memphis Quality Initiative. In 2003 he co-founded the Gandhi King Conference in Memphis along with Arun Gandhi, the grandson of Mohandas K. Gandhi. His writings has earned him the SAJA award for the best commentary in 2008. . Additionally his articles appear in the New York Times, The Times of India and interviews on CNN and NPR. Jain was the recipient of 2009 National Health Journalist Fellowship from California Endowment Health Journalism Fellowships at University of Southern California Annenberg School for Communication and Journalism.
